On May 20, 2021, SETE Táxi Aéreo successfully carried out an international Air ICU flight from Cochabamba, Bolivia, to São Paulo, Brazil.
The flight’s mission was to transport Mr. Adriano, 42 years old, from his residence to a specialized reference hospital in São Paulo, where he could receive the necessary medical care.
The challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic introduced numerous barriers and strict requirements for international flights, especially for Air ICU missions. To address these challenges, SETE Táxi Aéreo partnered with experts and advanced processes to streamline patient regulation, clearance, and execution of international aeromedical flights as efficiently as possible.
“We’ve observed that several countries closed their borders and implemented strict safety protocols. While necessary, these measures have introduced new requirements for flight regulation, clearances, and airspace use. However, SETE Táxi Aéreo remains committed to providing aeromedical transport beyond Brazil, across South, North, and Central America. We are fully prepared with aircraft, equipment, operational processes, compliance with international legislation, and support to meet these demands both from Brazil to other countries and vice versa,” stated Diogo Vilella, Commercial Director of SETE Táxi Aéreo.
To optimize the flight time, this mission utilized the Learjet 35-A, a jet capable of reaching speeds of over 850 kilometers per hour. The Learjet’s speed reduces the number of required stops, ensuring a higher quality of care and greater comfort for the patient and their accompanying family members.
Another major advantage of SETE Táxi Aéreo in executing international flights is its experienced medical and flight crew. Trained extensively and familiar with universal medical and operational protocols, they ensure seamless coordination with both the origin and destination hospitals for safe and efficient transfers.
SETE Táxi Aéreo wishes Mr. Adriano a swift and full recovery and hopes he will soon reunite with his family and friends.
